Have you wanted to know the secret to being and staying healthy and fit? Are you curious about trying the latest, greatest fitness and diet fad that can help you lose weight, get fit and get those six pack abs you always dreamed of as fast as possible in as little time as possible? Have you often wondered with so many diets out there which ones really work and which ones don't?

For as long as I can remember I have always been interested in meeting, reading or hearing about people who exude health and wellness. I always wanted to know what their secret was. Collecting, magazines, books, news articles, hearing teleseminars, and downloading MP3 recordings about the latest and greatest in health and fitness is not something out of the ordinary for me. As a personal trainer, health educator and fitness competitor, I always wanted to know what the latest fitness and diet fad was to help keep my clients and keep me motivated, fit, lean and healthy.

Have you ever wondered with all the diets out there, how can all these people make miracle claims and not be lying? Did you know that the Zone Diet, the High Fat, High Protein diet (Atkin and Berstein), Macrobiotic diet, Natural Hygiene diet, and Raw Food diet all have the same thing in common?

According to Dr. Fred Bisci there is a simple explanation behind this. He states that it is more important what you omit from your diet rather than what you include in your diet. Think about it...all the above mentioned diets are leaving out all the major foods and habits that disrupt the human physiology. For example, although I am not a proponent of the high fat, high protein diet, included in that diet is to stop smoking, avoid drinking alcohol, soft drinks, carbohydrates, refined sugars, candy, cakes... I think you get the point. The High Fat, High Protein diet will show temporary results not because of what they are eating but what they are not eating or what they are leaving out.

Bisci goes on and affirms that every single diet can show some benefit to people especially if they are adding vegetables (especially raw) to their plates. Bisci states "every diet can come up with results and show some benefits" (Bisci, Fred, Raw Food and Science). Bisci continues by stating that if you want to judge what the ultimate diet is, that leaves everything out, that's the 100% raw food diet. Although an advocate of the Raw Food diet Dr. Bisci has also had great success with patients on a cooked diet so long as they complement the cooked foods with lots of raw and living foods, eating less quantity of food overall and drinking fresh filtered water. However over time the amount of raw food should exceed the amount of cooked food for better results reaffirms Bisci.

The key to success according to Dr. Bisci is what you don't do. He advises that we set parameters and consistently leave out foods otherwise we are going to continue struggling our whole lives and not be able to experience that super natural well being that we are capable of attaining.

Here are three simple steps you can take to help improve your health right away.

  1. Gradually over time begin to drop the negatives foods off.
  2. Get to the point where you're eating less animal protein, then drop them off, then get to the point where you're eating less refined/starchy carbohydrates.
  3. If you find that you are struggling with leaving certain foods behind then make sure to add more raw and living foods to your diet, especially dark leafy greens, drinking plenty of fresh vegetable juices and filtered water to help maintain a healthier alkaline versus acid balance.

There you have it! Eat clean and stay healthy!
